Sharing the stories of interesting women and bringing them to life on the canvas

Ethel’s Girl Friday- Emilie

Name: Emilie

Occupation: Communications Coordinator at the Peabody Auditorium & a barista on a hiatus

Passionate about and why? Entertainment (live events, theater, etc). I have always wanted to work in some realm of the entertainment industry and I feel lucky to be able to work at a local venue in my hometown where I learn more about it each day.

Any special activities or hobbies?

I love cooking and making craft coffee. After being a part time barista for 4 years, I fell in love with the entire world of coffee & how it brings the community together. Cooking is also healing for me. The results are so gratifying and there’s nothing better than enjoying something you made from scratch.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

Some would say clown music. I would say at this moment Move on Up by Curtis Mayfield. 🕺🏻

Do you have a favorite artist or author?

I found an artist named Mikako Hamaguchi at the Osara Commissary in the Pikes Place Market in Seattle a couple years ago. She creates these adorable small Japanese drawings and sells them in her shop with her husband and I love them!

What do you love most about yourself?

My sense of humor and wittiness. I love when I get a good laugh out of someone and can and just be goofy with people, it makes life more fun!
